Two projects of Shree Kisan Innovation Hub were also displayed at the Shreenagar stall at Nepal AgriTech International Expo 2018 at Bhrikutimandap from 15th to 18th of February. The projects were Demand Fish Feeder and Pest Exclusion Nest.
Demand Fish Feeder is a project of Shree Kisan Innovation Hub which is based on the simple idea of feeding fish as per their need and hunger. It is a feeder for fish where the feed is placed in a bucket and these buckets are placed in pond with openings at the bottom from where the fish can feed.
Pest Exclusion Nest is a model farm being promoted by Shree Kisan Innovation Hub, which includes integrated pest management for organic farming without the need for chemical fertilizers. It also includes drip irrigation and insect traps.
For the Demand Fish Feeder, the actual fish feeder was brought for demonstration. On the other hand, a small model of the Pest Exclusion Net was kept at the stall so the different parts and technologies used in the farm could be showcased.
The response to these technologies from the visitors was overwhelming. The projects turned out to be a crowd pleaser. Even people who were not interested in visiting every stall in the expo came forward to ask about the projects on display. Respective experts of the projects—Mr. Khyam Narayan Poudel for Pest Exclusion Nest, and Mr. Sailesh Gurung for Demand Fish Feeder—were both present at the expo. People could get general information about the projects, and could meet the respective experts if they wanted to learn more about the project and put forward their queries. Visitors were able to see real models in person and also talk to the concerned expert.
